Meditative pilgrimage hikes in the UNESCO Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve: from the Wintringer farm to Auersmacher and back
Spring hike
The meditative pilgrimage on a section of the European Way of St. James pilgrims in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve is integrated into the special atmosphere of the seasons and is understood as an exploration of sustainability. The mission of a UNESCO biosphere reserve and questions about the sources of inner strength and the good life become thematic companions along the way in a poetic way. After an introduction, the route follows the Starry Path/Chemin des étoiles, past the "field of stars" and a sunken garden to the stage destination, the Altes Bauernhaus pilgrims' hostel in Auersmacher. There you can enjoy coffee and homemade cake. After a pause in the village church, the approx. 15 km long, moderately difficult hike with inclines leads back to the medieval Wintringer Chapel.
Note: The pilgrimage hikes also include ascents and are only suitable for experienced participants in good physical condition. Bring your own rucksack provisions and make sure you wear good shoes and rainwear if necessary.
