UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau

Lecture

In 2009, UNESCO recognized large parts of the Bliesgau as a biosphere reserve. The Saarbrücken region and the municipality of Kleinblittersdorf are also integrated into the model region. What does the UNESCO biosphere reserve concept mean in practice? What expectations are placed on the people living here, what fields of action are linked to it? How can the content and concrete utopias of the Bliesgau biosphere reserve reach the heart of society and become the driving force behind sustainable lifestyles? The lecture illuminates and discusses the specifics of the Bliesgau biosphere reserve and its fields of action from an ethical and cultural perspective.
