Drive in art - the art lives
Video projections by artist Leslie Huppert project the place of art in the crisis onto the medieval building
On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, as night fell, videos of extraordinary artworks by various artists were projected onto the interior and exterior facades of the Wintringer Chapel. Some of the artistic reflections that appeared in the night atmosphere also addressed the question of how humanity shapes the future of this unique biosphere - the Earth.

Genc Mulliqi
An artistic reflection in the mirror of the symbolic meaning of the windows of the late gothic "Wintringer Chapel".
The Albanian sculptor Genc Mulliqi was a guest artist at the Kulturzentrum am EuroBahnhof e.V. Saarbrücken until May 2020. He lives and works in Tirana/Albania as professor of the sculpture class at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Arts in Tirana. After a visit to the cultural site Wintringer Chapel, he created a "head sculpture" of fired clay in his guest studio at KuBa under the title "WINDOWS meanwhile worlds". The work will be shown on site in the course of 2020 and become the starting point for local conversations.
Genc Mulliqi conceives his work as a metaphorical "light bridge" between the interior of the sacred space and the outside world. On another level, he wants his work to visually negotiate the relationship between man and nature.

Art for Climate Protection for International Environment Day 2020
Beethoven Pastoral Project
The Regional Association of Saarbrücken initiates the music/
World Environment Day, or Environment Day, is an annual day of action celebrated worldwide on June 5. This year, an extraordinary art project is taking place as part of the Beethoven Year. Beethoven was a great friend of nature and so his 6th symphony can also be understood as an ode to nature and thus to the biosphere earth.
Under the title "Beethoven Pastoral Project," 250 artists will digitally interpret this symphony in its anniversary year as part of World Environment Day. The language of art will be used to send a signal for climate protection. The patron is the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres. This also includes the contribution from the Regional Association of Saarbrücken and the Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve.
