Cultivating artistic work
Starting with the Biosphere Festival 2024, the art and cultural site Historisches Rathaus Kleinblittersdorf is opening its doors to a new way of thinking in our model region.
From abstract model to concrete project, the exhibition shows works of conceptual art and "idea laboratories" that have come to life in an alliance or in a dialog with the "Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau" - with the aim of imitation. The focus here is on an exchange between this symbol + finding instrument for sustainable ways of life, its guiding principles, impulses and its vision of giving appreciative space to the cultural task of our model region in the form of artistic creation of "Man in harmony with nature".
The exhibition "From the abstract to the concrete" reveals to the viewer the alliance principle of the "Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau". In a playful and poetic way, the experiment creates thought modules for 10 fields of action and an awareness of sustainability, which is initially reflected in everyday life in the exhibition in the projects "BliesgauHocker - Ambassador of a region" and "Landscape-bound building using the example of the denk.mal 19 project". Involving the viewer is a key element of the conceptual art approach. "Ideas move forward through people, while they solidify in works of art and ultimately remain behind", as Joseph Beuys put it.
As part of the exhibition and beyond, interested parties are invited to find out more about the topics from ten fields of action specific to the region and to develop their own laboratory of ideas with the "Bliesgau Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve" in its function as a symbol and model for sustainable ways of life. Whether you are a municipality, company, educational institution, association, cultural institution or private individual - the The spirit of a model region needs to be cultivated so that the model can be experienced, felt and brought to life for everyone.
A thought, a felt "BauWerk Kunst in Gesellschaft für Nachhaltigkeit" - a living "sculpture of harmony" is in development.
The exhibition opening begins with this year's Biosphere Festival on 30 June 2024 and the works of conceptual art: "Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau" by the cultural officer of the Saarbrücken Regional Association and artist Peter Michael Lupp, in dialogue with the projects "BliesgauHocker - Ambassador of a Region" by the art shepherd Rudolf Schwarz and the project "Landscape-bound building using the example of the renovation, modernization and conversion of denk.mal 19", a listed town house in St. Ingbert dating from 1890 by artist and regional developer Dorothée Pirrung.
The exhibition will show further projects until the end of March 2025. Dates for the individual exhibitions will be announced in good time via the media and can be found at www.kleinblittersdorf.de and www.biosphaere-bliesgau.eu. The individual exhibitions will be accompanied by exchange, dialog and talks, which can also be found in the media.
Alliance for the sustainable development of our habitat Bliesgau biosphere reserve
Project and experience-oriented forest life education (WEP) in the Blieskastel municipal forest
Project developer Dr. Helmut Wolf, Head of the Blieskastel Municipal Forestry Administration, who entered into the first alliance with the Bliesgau Mobile Biosphere Reserve, explained on October 9, 2024, among other things how the Bliesgau Mobile UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is able to play a key didactic role in its projects - "Forest Classroom", "Historical-Ecological Learning and Knowledge Trail", "Edible Forest", "Bilingual Tree-Shrub Trail", "Raft of Sustainability" - and how it is integrated into its forest experience pedagogy in dealing with the fields of action specific to the model region, as a symbol of the balance necessary for survival. In the words of Dr. Wolf: "The raft of sustainability cannot sink, but it can tip over, just like the rivers and the climate of our earth, if we are not in balance".
The description of his day-to-day work in conjunction with the Finde-Instrument Mobile illustrates more than ever Joseph Beuys' quote that the ideas of sustainability need to be carried forward by the local people in order not to freeze and underlines the need to preserve one's own living space on the one hand and to develop it sustainably into the future in responsibility for future generations on the other. Wolf sees the forest as a "perfect ecological synthesis of the arts", in which he, as an educator, can contribute to promoting harmony between people and nature and, by working together in the projects, prepare the breeding ground that can connect the creativity of each individual with their own natural habitat.
The symbol of the mobile - the Bliesgau biosphere reserve in its poetic-artistic impression and quiet presence, finds its balance - just as the creative person can find himself and his true creative source in harmony with nature.
The exhibition is the second exhibition in our exhibition trilogy "Cultivating artistic work. From the abstract to the concrete - idea laboratories in the Bliesgau biosphere reserve model region" and can be seen in the town hall until the end of December.
Opening hours of the exhibition in the Historic Town Hall: Mondays to Fridays 8 am to 12 noon and 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, Wednesdays until 5:30 pm (on the last Friday of the month until 12 noon).
The first exhibition on the topic of "Landscape-bound building" using the example of the renovation, modernization and conversion of denk.mal 19, a listed town house in St. Ingbert dating from 1890 by the artist and regional developer Dorothée Pirrung, was on display in the town hall from June to the end of September.
For the finale of the trilogy, the works of art shepherd Rudolf Schwarz with the theme "The SYNO Chapel" will be on display from January 15, 2025 until March 2025.
